Darcy Downing Ministries

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.” Luke 4:18-19

Darcy Downing is a unique counselor combining her knowledge of psychotherapy with her gifting in the prophetic.  She works with each individual to comprehend the source of trauma while realizing the ultimate plans of God for that person.  A paradox of then and now perspective becomes a catalyst toward alignment with the very best God has for that person.

The work required involves activating what the individual learns by applying scriptural truths and mental health skills and strategies.  This is not an immediate process, rather it is a series of progressive sessions that includes identifying faulty beliefs, dysfunctional cultural, systemic and familial patterns, as well as debunking self inflicted cognition and replacing them with more accurate, healthy, functional life strategies.  It is the proclamation, realization, and application of truth strategy that declares, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.(John 8:32).”

Darcy holds degrees in Psychology, BS from Colorado State University and Community Counseling, M.A. from Adams State University.  She holds certificates from nationally acclaimed Father’s Heart Ministry in Activating the Prophetic, Propagating the Prophetic, Advancing the Prophetic,  Prophetic Office Internship, and Prophetic Counseling.  While these courses and degrees inform and support her on a professional and ministry level,  it is the compilation of her personal experiences as a survivor from ritual abuse (RA) and childhood trauma that has equipped her to respond emphatically and genuinely to another person’s suffering.

Ritual abuse (RA):  “an extreme, sadistic form of abuse of children and non-consenting adults. It is methodical, systematic sexual, physical, emotional and spiritual abuse, which often includes mind control, torture, and highly illegal and immoral activities such as murder, child pornography and prostitution. The abuse is justified by a religious or political ideology” ( http://ra-info.org/).

As a Colorado Native, Darcy enjoys scaling the moutain tops with her husband and three daughters. Her greatest joy, however, is to witness the healing power of Jesus in the lives of wounded individuals.
